Happy July! (it's too late to say happy 4th) We had a great time on the 4th... The Andersen clan all gathered here, at our house for dinner, dessert & a little "chit chat". Afterwards, we walked to the park for the fireworks show. THEN, as if no one were tired enough already - some of the group participated in the neighbors' firework competition. That was more of a who-has-the-loudest-bang competition & less of a display of beautiful sparks! We finally fell into bed around midnight and I'm still tired - 3 days later!
included "gourmet" hot dogs (not an oxymoron)
okay, the hot dogs were not gourmet, but the toppings included:
bacon/gruyere/horseradish sauce:
guacamole: (YUM)
Coleslaw:
And dessert included the not-pictured sugar cookies, ice cream pound cake concoction (which was a failure) and white chocolate kettle corn...
& Lime Rickey - in case you didn't get enough sugar :)
We covered the kitchen dining table with butcher paper & left a jar of crayons out. That was lots of fun!
The highlight of the night though, was the free labor we scored when my dad & bro Eric assembled all of our patio dining furniture that we had just acquired an hour before the party!

Let's do it again next year! (minus the assembling of furniture)
